For this project, we were required to build a house give an quarter acre lot. We had to keep in mind that wherever we chose our house to be located, to not forget about the zoning laws and also having everything under our set budget which was $700,000. For our exhibition we printed out everything we made and put it in the format of an actual architectural blue print and plans for the house. We had the freedom of making everything to our needs as long as we could meet the given requirements that were given to us.
My favorite part of the project was designing the floor plans and making it all look realistic by drawing it in Google Sketch-up. It was a fun process and It actually made me feel like i was designing a house for someone. The thing i was most proud of was how the final house looked like in Sketch-up. The 3D model had a lot of time and effort put in it and I honestly do like the out come of it. It was one of my favorite projects this year! If i were to do this project again something i would want to do different would probably be given more to work with. Like instead of a quarter acre possibly a full acre to work with. Even though we only had a fourth of an acre it was still good to work with. If i could revise anything it would be the site listing. We rushed on that because we were so focused on getting the pages for our final outcome in on time so we pushed off the listing, so it looked a little bland. |
