As a class we read the the story of Antigone. Which was about a girl, Antigone and and her sister Ismene. They both loose their beloved brother and Antigone tries to give her brother a proper burial, but Creon the king has declared that whoever tries to touch the person that betrayed their city will be stoned to death. and Antigone does not care. All she cares about is that her brother gets a proper burial. Antigone tries to get Ismene to help her bury their brother, but Ismene does not want to help because she fears that king Creon will kill her for disobeying him. Antigone eventually gives her brother a proper burial, but when king Creon finds out he sets out to find Antigone and kill her. When king Creon finds her, he finds out that she hung herself to be with her brother to save king Creon the trouble of killing her
The House on Mango Street
In the book, The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros, Esperanza, the main character grows up as a young, immature child that goes through a lot of tough things in her life, but since shes a child she does not notice what is happening. She then eets these two new girls that moved in and becomes best friends with them, along with her little sister Nenny. Esperanza then goes through expiriences that are very odd and as she grows up she realized that she went through a lot as a child. Towards the end of the book she grows up as a mature and resposible teenager.

As a class we all read the book Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer. This book was about a boy named Christopher and he is your ordinary kid. He lives his life normally until he decides to live in the wild. He gets tired of all the materialistic things in life and decides to donate all of his savings to charity and burn all his money and abandon his car. He ventures out into the wild going on a long journey to Alaska. He meets many friends along the way and when they offer to help he would always say no. After a hundred days passed a short while after he passes away in a bus in the middle of Alaska.
